This Thursday car show at the Blue Sky Ice-cream and Hamburgers restaurant in Romulus, Mich., is another weekly meetup spot we can finally check off our list of new car shows to attend.

We cruised on over September 12, 2024, to check things out at this location, for which participants have been meeting here for a long time, and after it being a place that we wanted to visit for a couple years now, success was finally met.
Took about 50 minutes (1-way) during rush hour (& 40 miles away) to get there, but totally worth it!
What an excellent venue to hold it at, building in front with regular parking on the left, then in the back and on the right side, a big grassy area with a bunch of shade trees to park under and near. It was a warm day, but with the trees and a slight breeze, it was a pretty cool event.
We were met with 2 Buick Grand Nationals right off the bat, that we’ve never seen before (always a good sign for us indicating the show will probably be good), a few other GM Gbodies, some Abodies, plus a bunch of other hot rods we saw for the first time!
THAT is why we venture off to distant lands… to experience new (to us) classic & muscle autos (mostly of the Gbody variety, but others peek our interest as well).
Sure, its nice to run into your local buddies and hang out at a predetermined place, but it’s also good to be able to see other things too.
