Previous to the dealer marketing albums that most of us are familiar with seeing (namely the 1984-1987 versions), Buick had named these albums “Advance Information.”
They contained the exact same info that the later dealer albums had in them.
Paint chips for the exterior colors available, seat material swatches, specs and detailed information for each of the new car models, wheel choices, vinyl top details, etc.
Order sheets, Delco radio brochures, tire option sheets, and other relevant component & accessories fact sheets were also inside each of these dealer albums.
If you own a pre-84 Buick auto, these books make a pretty cool item to own (whether you want to display them with your vehicle at car shows, or simply for your own information and reference), and most of them can be obtained on ebay for around $50.
