With the Hines Cruise being cancelled due to flooding, there was no doubt to anyone that Bakers would be packed today. Auto enthusiasts were already prepared to go to Hines Drive, and since that was a no-go, they needed to go somewhere.
We try to attend the Bakers of Milford Restaurant car show at least once a year.
There’s generally a good crowd of assorted vehicles at this one, assuming the weather is optimal.
Which for today, it was, and hundreds and hundreds of automobiles filled the venue!
The front lot was jammed, the rear lawn (and all the way to the back of it) had cars side by side, and the adjacent lots had even more hot rods and muscle cars parked in them.
A great event for this Sunday, August 27, 2023, as expected.
A few Buick Grand Nationals and a Turbo T Limited, other GM G & A bodied rides, older Buicks, and tons of other cool autos participated in this huge weekly car meet.
This (one way) 45 minute and 45 mile away gathering (for us) almost never leaves us disappointed.
(we came last year to the very last cruise in of the year, but it rained earlier in the day, preventing their normal big turnout here)
The I96 freeway is kind of a disaster at the moment, (as we just discovered on our way there), so the return home trip required taking the scenic route (around the lakes, thru fancy neighborhoods [with an actual street named “welfare lane” lol], some small town drive thru’s, curvy roads, etc).
