Buick Grand National Door Guard Molding Placement

This might be a good referencement for those who need to know exactly where the door guards get mounted on the Buick Grand National (and all other Turbo Regals).

This special piece of rubber molding found in the center of both doors (and continuing on both the back sides of the front fenders plus front sections of the rear quarter panels) is unique to the Buick Regal.

GM stock is long gone on this item, and most of the reproductions are not exact.
Good luck on finding a replacement for this part if you need it!
(some versions are made “pretty close” but none to our knowledge match 100% to the special OEM version)

The top of the door guard molding gets placed 8 1/4″ from the body line (near the top of the door) AT the end of the door as shown in the pic.
[the fender & quarter positions are slightly different due to the curve of the body line as it runs along the vehicle]

All of the pieces start approximately 1/4″ from the edges.
