This brown leather cover book contained hundreds of pages with all of the details, specifications, and options available on each automobile, for all of the 1983 Buick models that were being sold for that year.
Officially titled the “1983 Buick Color Trim & Selling Manual” which we usually call the
“Dealer Marketing Album” these manuals are another rare item since only 1 copy was available per Buick automobile dealership.
We couldn’t find a record of exactly how many car dealerships were open in 1983, but we know there was about 500 in 1987, so the figure for this year would probably be roughly about the same, give or take.
Now take into consideration that most of these dealer albums were thrown way after the 1983 model car season ended, and you can see that the amount left in existence does make them a truly rare item.
Of course, even with way less than 500 copies still existing, rare doesn’t always mean valuable. We saw some copies for sale on ebay for about $70.
Still, they are a way cool item for actual owners of 1983 Buick vehicles, whether you display them with your Buick Regal at a local car show, or simply add them in to your Buick literature collection.
