Back in the 1980s, 1990s, and even into the 2000s and 2010s, if you wanted to find out about Turbo Buick information, you had to subscribe to the various (paper printed) newsletters, magazines, or catalogs that were available.
And then wait for them to arrive via snail mail.
(oh, the horror… just imagine having to wait weeks for these things to get to you… we’re so spoiled nowadays with products arriving as soon as the next day…)
There wasn’t all that many Buick-specific products out there back then.
Kirban had his Grand News newsletter, BGNRA produced a newsletter, BCA made the Buick Bugle magazine, and a few other car clubs/organizations had paper printed items.
There were also some Buick parts vendors that supplied some catalogs and materials that sometimes contained informative stories, but mostly about using their own products to enhance the performance of the various Buick Regals.
The internet wasn’t around when the Turbo Regals were first created.
That meant if you wanted to stay in the loop for all things concerning the Buick Grand National (& its brethren), you needed to be in a car club, auto organization, and/or subscribe to the assorted places that produced materials about the happenings surrounding Buick things.
This was the way to find out about new products, shows & events, and all the other cool stuff occurring in the Buick world at that time.
