Other than the obvious white pinstripe on the side of this model, and the words GN/132 on the trunk lid, this diecast is exactly like the very first model issued (#8001).

The id label on the end side of the box, the one that has the production quantity & part number listed on it, is actually printed on the box for this issue. (unlike the last few diecasts from the Turbo Buick series, where this was a sticker placed on the box).

On the rear side of the box, the picture of the vehicle shows the license plate to read: “1987 GN” – however, on the actual model car, the license plate is a gold numbered plate.

The Box says:

Fact or Fiction? This ’87 GN is one of under 200 cars that may have been used by the FBI. This GN has some strange options like a 145mph speedo, white body stripe, a 200R4 transmission and a number on the rear deck lid, GN/132. This Buick does not shut off at the typical 124mph speed! When the car was tested at the track it ran an impressive 8.62 at 78.92 mph in the 1/8 mile on radial tires and no K&N filter set up. Some of the codes found on the car were not found in reference guides. The story is that the car was shipped to a dealership as is and was bought by and inquisitive client. The owner contacted many divisions to get some answers on the differences in the car to no avail. The owner eventually contacted the FBI about the car and they confirmed that they “may have” ordered some from Buick and did not pick them all up. So some of the cars were made available to the dealership from which purchased. So the question is asked… fact or fiction?
