Here’s something different we haven’t seen before.
From 1989, made by Monogram, in the Mini-Exacts series, is this Buick Grand National.
What’s so special about it?
The body is Translucent (like raw plastic, no paint)!
This is a Pre-Production car, but has no code numbers or markings on it like newer diecasts have.
The regular released version of this vehicle was black, and was available in 4 different boxed versions.
[ see details about the final car here: Monogram Mini Exacts Buick Grand National ]
[ similarly, 3 different colored cars, also called Mini-Exacts, were made by Con-Cor, check those out here: Con-Cor HO Scale Buick Grand National ]
When dealing with something this small (a 1:87 scale version – about 2.25″ long), the major details are pretty diminished.
There’s no engine, but the interior is there.
The rims are mostly flat with minimal details.
(just FYI, 1:87 scale cars were mainly created for train hobbyists for use in their displays)
The seller was asking $100 on ebay.
It’s a pricey, but pretty rare item.
