Every year Hot Wheels produces millions of these beloved die cast cars that us adults, ummm, I mean kids, play with.

At the end of the year, Hot Wheels assembles (a limited edition of) 500 special “sets” which contain 1 car of everything they made for that year.

Basically, they take a car from the regular production run & place a holographic sticker on the front, indicating that this car is 1 from the 500 yearly sets.

Every once in awhile, the people that buy these yearly collector sets split them up & sell the cars individually.
That was the case in the below photos of these 2011 Pennzoil Buick Grand Nationals.
They were sold one by one on ebay to those who desired them.
(If I remember correctly, they sold for about $10 each)
