The annual Dust ‘Em Off Classic Car Show (part of the Back to the Bricks series) was held at a new location this year (the new GM Heritage Center in Grand Blanc).
This was our first time attending this event, so we weren’t sure what to expect.
The new area certainly has enough parking spots for at least 1000 vehicles.
Last year (at the Dort Federal Event Center in Flint), over 1400 cars showed up.
This year, we don’t know what the attendance was, as we didn’t arrive until almost 2PM (we’re not morning people!).
For the majority of car shows we attend, this usually gives us plenty of time to see everything, and the show car participants are mostly still on display.
Not the case for today.
Lots of cars were leaving as we were arriving, but there were still numerous vehicles in the parking lots (a couple hundred at least).
We spotted 2 Buick GN’s, a Regal T-type, several other GM G-bodies & A-bodies, along with some other assorted Buicks (Reatta’s, LeSabre’s, etc).
A mostly GM show (which is great for us!).
Was the 120 mile round trip (from our home base) worth it?
Yep.
Do we now know that we should have arrived much sooner?
Yep.
Will we be back next year for this specific event?
Yep!
