All of our beloved Turbo Regals once came from one of the many Buick car dealers that were spread across the United States.
Many of them originally had promotional license plates from the dealerships on the front end of these Gbody Regals.
For the vehicles that required state mandated front license tags, the dealers promo plate got removed (usually by the car buyer at a later date when they got the state plate).
Then they probably ended up on garage walls as decorations.
Or stored with other odds and ends.
Perhaps even thrown away since they were no longer needed.
But some of these custom license plates were sold to other collectors (either after they were first replaced by the original vehicle purchasers, or sometime later on down the road by the owners, perhaps after they sold their cars).
These vintage dealer booster plates make cool souvenirs for Turbo Buick owners, either placed on their cars, or on display with other Buick memorabilia.
Lots of options for license tags are always available for sale online if you desire stuff like this.
Perhaps you could even find one that represents the Buick Auto dealership that your Buick Regal first came from!
Here’s some examples of such plates that we’ve seen for sale.
