After yesterdays post about Ed Mertz’s “Curbside Chats videos” we did some further digging about them.
We mentioned that the full episode could be found on youtube, so we ended up watching it to see what it was all about (since we hadn’t ever seen any of these vhs video tapes previously).
This 33 minute video showed the newly (at the time) home of the General Motors Corp, which is inside the Renaissance Center, in Detroit, Michigan.
The presentation shows the locale, inside, outside, and narrates some quite interesting facts and views in and around the fantastic architectural building locals know as the RenCen.
(just FYI: this glass tower complex, is 1 of 2 creations that have this specific styling. The duplicate is in Los Angeles, CA, and is called the Westin Bonaventure, which was built between 1974 and 1976)
(Did you know? The Detroit RenCen, with so many businesses and offices inside, is so large, it has its own post office & zip code!)
The 1997 Buick Regal GS was featured in this video, which made a truly “smashing” entrance!
Buick Dealership salespeople Q & A sessions were also featured in this episode, along with the introduction of Bob Coletta, the new GM of Buick.
