Buick Grand National Extended Build Production Run (Last 10k cars made)

The “G” assembly plant was to switchover near the end of 1987 to accommodate 1988 front wheel drive models, but a special meeting was held earlier in the year to determine if more G-body Regals could be built before the plant ended production.

It was granted, and there was a program extension on building the 1987 Buick Grand Nationals, with a lot of cool things mentioned within the Buick corporate documentation.

This was originally a PDF we found, but we are attaching photos of the actual 14 documents so you can check them out!

Neat stuff, especially if you own one of the last 10,000 Buick Grand Nationals that were produced!

Extended production period: August 3, 1987 – December 1987.
Cars made: Approximately 10,000 units.
