CODE 3 Conversion IXO 1987 Buick Grand National Convertible

.

Here’s a neat toy model car we saw listed for sale on ebay.

This 1:43 scale diecast car, made from an original IXO Buick Grand National toy model, has had it’s roof chopped off, making it into a convertible.

Created by a company called CODE 3, and produced in limited quantities (with no more than 6 being made, according to the Limited Edition Certificate included with sale).

The Gbody Regal is white with a black interior. The conversion looks nicely done with the top-down trim installed (you don’t get the ragtop, which actually in our opinion, looks horrible when it’s up. The real convertible car looks ok with the top down, but up, ugg..).

The price for this replica model was listed at GBP 39.99 (Approximately US $52.92) + GBP 21.85 (approx US $29.12) shipped via Royal Mail International, from the United Kingdom.

Kind of a cool collectible (but a bit more pricey at about $82), when compared to the cost of the regular IXO diecast car (about $50).
But what would you expect from a limited edition, custom made creation?
