The Fall Open House at the Packard Proving Grounds, on Sunday, October 20, 2024, is the final car show we are attending for the year (as well as probably pretty much everyone else, too).
[ there are a few “trunk or treat” events that will be held in the next week or so, but based on our past experiences, less than 20 cars show up, since most of them have been put away for their winter nap by now ]
As the last hurrah for the car cruise and car show season, this event usually brings out a bunch of cool automobiles, since it’s generally the last fun (auto related) thing car buffs will do before that yucky white stuff comes out.
A sad day because of the above, but a fun day too, knowing what we know.
The sun was shining and the weather was about 70 degrees, so we guesstimate that over 500 hot rods showed up!
[there were around 400 when we arrived a little after 1 pm, and they kept rolling in for the hour that we were there, and more were coming in as we were leaving]
1 Buick GN besides ours, some other GM G-body’s and A-body’s, plus other cool modes of refined transportation were on display.
A great turnout for the last big event of the year!
