THIS is the 10th car in the series.
Once again, this cars release date would interfere with the part numbers sequential order.
(and we are presenting these cars on this site based on the release dates, and not the part number order).

No lithograph would be issued for this model, as had been done for past cars.

The envelope that the mini window sticker came in was stamped with Epitome’s logo in blue ink.

This would be the last car ever that came with a mini window sticker.

This would be the last model that had the “www.peachgmp.com” website listed on the bottom of the outer white box.

This was the first car to have a special “gold” license plate actually ON the car.
(but not the first car to get one of these plates, read the details on yesterday’s post about the 1985 GN GMP #8007 to see the info about this)
{you’ll also find the explanation for the EE sticker shown on the envelope below, there as well!}

The word “WH 1” is ghost printed on the background on the COA.

This two tone black & silver Gbody Regal is a crowd favorite (probably 2nd only to the GN).
The model accurately depicts the same features displayed on the real Buick WH1, from the custom pinstriping to the T-type grill emblem to the Buick Tri Shield logo decal on the rims.
A worthy addition to your Buick diecast collection!

BEHIND THE SCENES STORY FROM
TED HIRSCH, EPITOME EXCLUSIVES:

[editors note: this installment has been edited as Ted originally mentions about 2 different models in this story, the wh-1 and the black chrome grand national (the next car in the series). To keep all the info herein on this page about only the WH1, we are only including the relevant info for this model in this version of the story.]

8th installment, Epitome Exclusives

I’m going to only briefly talk about the 10th Turbo Buick model GMP produced, the 1986 WH1 Designer Series.

One of my biggest regrets was not doing a lithograph for the 1986 Designer Series model.
Clearly the 1986 Designer Series is one of the most beautiful and most sought after paint schemes ever available for a Turbo Buick.
We opted to stick with a certificate and GOLD plates for the first 300 serial numbers.
