Looking very similar to the 1987 Buick Marketing Manual, only a more scaled down size version, the 1987 Buick Salesmans Portfolio was a tool that the sales person at the car dealership used as a guide in aiding consumers to select the options they wanted when they were purchasing a brand new vehicle in 1987.
This 5 piece portfolio included the brown leather looking (maybe vinyl) case, and 4 specific booklets which covered most of the choices and options available for vehicles, and gave prices for all of those selections.
The 4 booklets from this set included info for all vehicles in the 1987 Buick lineup:
Century, Electra, Lesabre, Regal, Riviera, Skyhawk, Skylark, Somerset, and the station wagons.
1. 1987 Buick “exterior colors and wheels” foldout brochure.
This had actual paint chip samples of all available colors, for exterior paint, plus vinyl top options.
It also showed all the examples of rims and wheel covers that were available.
2. “Focus on Product” 1987 product information booklet. 86 pages.
This book listed revealing highlights and product options for each of the vehicles from 1987.
3. 1987 “price directory.” 68 pages.
This guide book listed all of the available options (plus RPO codes) with the costs for specific choices.
4. 1987 “engine talk from Buick.” 12 pages.
This booklet listed the different engines offered for each of the specific car models.

We saw this one listed on ebay, with a starting bid of $49.99.
AND, this item is actually probably more rare than the larger sized 1987 Buick Dealer album.
Over the years, we have run across 12-15 full sized manuals, while for these mini sized versions, we’ve only seen 3 or 4 of them in all this time!
