Just like the real automobile manufacturers, Hot Wheels (Mattel) goes through similar processes in selecting just the right parts to install on their diecast cars.
That means creating test samples, to see what these vehicles will look like when done with different parts on them.
Today we show you another version (that could have been) in the F&F Buick Grand National line, like yesterday’s prototype car, this 1:64 scale car has chrome 10 spoke wheels on it (with plastic tires).
Other than a different selection of wheels, the rest of the car is the same.
This car was not chosen to be in the final design made for mass production.
Again, marked “T02” on the base.
Offered by that same ebay seller (hw.prince.hobbies).
(with the same starting bid of $9.99 + 10.99 shipping)
(the listing will be nearing the end by the time you read this)
