Our Turbocharged Buick Regals are only here because of all the workers within Buick City, in Flint, Michigan.
What a cool era to have experienced the assembly process of these black beauties (along with the other color varieties as well).
That’s assuming that a lot of the plant workers were indeed auto fanatics themselves.
Some of them were probably just happy that they had “a job” and didn’t really care one way or the other what they were building.
Most people don’t realize the greatness that’s happening, while it’s actually occurring, and from the ones we’ve spoken with in the past, most thought it was pretty neat experience, but didn’t think it would turn into the cult following that it would become.
(we’re speaking of the Grand Nationals & their brethren in particular, the guys over at ASC absolutely knew the powerful legend they were creating)
Here’s a selection of original vintage coats and jackets from that era that were most likely worn by some of the Buick employees at the time!
Shoutout to UAW local 599!
