Most new vehicles came with a promotional front license plate from one of the many Buick car dealerships across the Country.
These booster plates were included on the 1984-1987 Buick Grand Nationals, T-types, and Regal Limiteds, that had the front license plate brackets already attached to the car.
Of course, not all of the Turbo Buicks had this option.
In these cases, the Buick dealers would often use rear license plate frames to get some free promotion for their dealerships.
These front license tags add a bit of history to the vehicles origins, and provide for something to be in that space, instead of being empty, for the Buick Regals that had this fixture on them.
The plates themselves vary in design from a standard advertising scheme to an attraction device with bold colors and assorted Buick logos within.
Here’s some recent ones we saw for sale online.
(perhaps your G-body Regal came from one of these places when it was brand new?)
