Not that this is really that hard of a job to do, in fact, it only takes about 5 minutes. But…
We did want to point out a minor upgrade we did while replacing the wiper blades on our 1987 Buick Grand National.
The factory stock wiper blades use an 18″ length for both sides of the Gbody Regal.
We found out you can use a 20″ size (for both sides), giving you more viewing area during those misty days.
(and the price for aftermarket blades is about the same for any size)
We also usually shop around and look for the best parts at the best prices we can find whenever something needs replacing on our Turbo Buick.
Using ebay as a search source for new wiper blades:
One pair we saw, listed “for” a 1987 Buick Regal, cost $17.95.
The same exact pair for a 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo, was $16.95!
Why the price difference for the SAME exact blades (same part number)?
Think sellers are trying to capitalize on “Buick” items? (we do)
You’ll also discover that aftermarket wiper blades are generally used for more than 1 specific vehicle.
Hence, the car you order for may not be listed for your specific automobile (but fit just fine).
The blades we got were actually advertised for a totally different auto!
But the most important thing, is that they are the “pin type” arm style, which is what 1984-1987 Buick Regals (and all other GM Gbody cars) accept.
What a deal, a pair for about $17 shipped (from CA, 5 days delivery).
And a brand name part, so it should be good.
The Bosch Direct Connect Wiper Blades we bought have an arm connector for multiple types of commonly used auto wiper arms: The J hook style, and the pin style.
(meaning these will fit many different automobiles besides our Turbo Regals)

.
While these are aftermarket wiper blades, they look close enough to the stock versions to be acceptable. And really, unless your Turbo Buick is a concours type car or you want/need everything to be truly original like OEM, who cares, they’re just wiper blades.

NO tools needed, simply unhook old wiper blades and install new ones.
.
TIME TO COMPLETION: 5 minutes.
.
HOW TO:
1. raise up your wipers all the way to make it easier to replace the one on the drivers side. The passenger side only needs to come up a little for easy access.
2. unclip old wiper blades.
3. push the new blade onto the pin to secure the wiper blades to the factory wiper arms. it simply snaps in place (line the hole up to the pin).
[ note that the blades seem a bit clunky when installed (loose on the arm, it moves around a bit), but rest assured, they will stay on ]
[ we noticed that if you install it with the internal push clip faced up towards the roof, it seems less clunky ]
[ the proper adapter is already installed within the new blade frame, the extra one they give you is for the J hook style ]
4. turn on the wipers to make sure the new parts are on properly (and don’t fall off!).
5. then spray some windshield washer solution and use the wipers to check how great and clear your windshield is now with your new wiper blades attached!
That’s it, if/when you drive in the rain, you’ll be able to see again!
