2007 Kirban Reunion – Flashback Friday!

I recently realized that I never posted any pictures on here from when I attended the 2007 Kirban Reunion that was held in Pennsylvania (September 15 & 16).

(I did create a super-cool 4-disc 8-hour! dvd from this entire event, the biggest one I ever made! 100 copies were made & they sold out fast!)

This was a combination event, celebrating Dennis Kirban’s 60th Birthday (“Birthday Bash!”), along with one of his infamous Buick Reunion events, where hundreds of Turbo Buick owners come from all over the U.S.A., Canada, and at this particular event, a guy from England showed up (but left his Grand National at home)!
Not to mention, that THIS, would be 20 years since the last Grand National was made! (“20th Anniversary”)
A truly awesome, never again to be matched car extravaganza!

This spectacular car show, actually 3 car shows, was a one of a kind event, held over 2 days!
First, everyone gathered at the Kirban Performance shop.
The next day, it was held at the Kirban compound (Dennis’ and his son Darrell’s houses).
The finale was held at a local country club banquet hall, where an excellent dinner was had, along with entertainment (trivia) being performed by Dennis himself! Lots of prizes were awarded for correct trivia answers. Door prizes were handed out too.

Sundays meetup at the hall was unique in that (if I remember correctly) along with 70-some Turbo Regals on display, there were (!!) 12 GNX’s in attendance, with none other than the elusive GNX #547 (still owned by the original buyer at that time), parked right in front of the banquet hall entrance! Sure, #547 is basically just like the other 546, BUT, how many people can say they actually saw THE most rarest one made? Me, along with the other hundred or so people who came to this event!

(side note, I feel “fortunate” in that I have personally seen & touched #001, #500, #547, as well as about 2 dozen other Buick GNX’s !!!)

Molly Sanders was there for the entire weekend, signing autographs (and trunk lids, dash panels, etc.), smiling for photos, and conducted a powerpoint presentation at the banquet.
Richard Clark was another speaker at the hall telling the ZDDP oil supplement story.

A cool hotwheels Buick GN (signed by Molly) was passed out to all attendees, as well as custom M&M candies that said “Bad to the Bone” and “Fast Turbo 6’s.”

What a great experience that was attending this gathering…

I wonder how many people still have their Buicks today from this event, since that was 13 years ago!
