There’s more to the G-Body Classic than just seeing all the cool vehicles that showed up (although that’s the main reason, along with meeting the owners of the cars, or hanging out with old/new car buddies).
Hungry, check, a variety of food carts were available.
Need parts? There were some vendors with an assortment of goodies (Southside Machine, Mikes Montes, to just name a few).
CGBG also had their own merch on display. Hats, shirts, etc.
Seeking out a trophy for your G ride? You’re eligible.
Hoping to win a prize in the raffle? It’s possible (we bought 40 raffle tickets and spread them out amongst the roughly 20 items they had available).
Sponsors who donated products to the prize raffle included The Parts Place, Dixie Restoration Depot, Inline Tube, Spoolfool Productions, amongst others.
Want to acquire a new G-body? They gave 1 away (we got a ticket for the car), and a few were for sale on the lot.
Desire to experience a one of a kind event, along with a few hundred other people who want to do the same? Guaranteed.

Planning the trip there.
For out-of-towners, there’s expenses incurred besides the gas to get there.
Toll roads (we spent about $9.50 each way), if you’re coming in for the day, no problems, but if you need lodging, you could camp at the Fairgrounds ($35/night). Otherwise grab a nearby motel. Entry to the event (for show cars, spectators are free). Then finally there’s parts if needed, food, tickets to the raffles, etc.
However, this is a totally fun and worthwhile event to go to!

This years G-body that was raffled off was a 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass (for which the winner bought 10 tickets). This was one of Brian’s personal cars.

Monte Carlo seat covers, from Dixie Restoration Depot.
82-88 Monte Carlo LS SS Low Back Bucket Seat Cover Upholstery Set with Matching Headrests in color Gray. These are the ones being sold by Dixie Restoration Depot.
Says fits Malibu & El Camino as well (you should check YOURS to make sure they are the same type of seats, as GM used a few different versions!).
Says fits 1982-1988, but we believe these seats are mostly found in 1986-1988 cars.
