On Saturday August 15, 2020 there wasn’t a million people lining the streets like past years, since the 2020 Woodward Dream Cruise was officially cancelled, and many people are still scared to come outside (and that’s ok, do what makes you feel safe).
Woodward Avenue also wasn’t (totally) gridlocked with vehicles (mostly spectator mini vans & stuff that shouldn’t be out there cruising anyways), so the unofficial 2020 Woodward Dream Cruise was more like it was back in the 1990s.
Meaning, more hot rods, muscle cars & vintage automobiles than regular daily drivers. Or at least it mostly seemed that way throughout the day.
Also meaning (IMHO) a better event without all of the commercialization, which ends up clogging up everywhere since the people gather in those spots.
This was definitely (in large part) a die hard car guys/gals cruise, not the family event type from recent years.
Turbo Buicks were scattered throughout the miles of roadway, but there were plenty of other Buick cars being driven.
G-body brethren were also plentiful.
It’s pretty apparent, at least here in Michigan, that most Buick car folk, as well as a LOT of other car guys & girls (and a ton of pickup truck owners) are pro Trump.
The MAGA Trump Cruise was officially run from noon-4pm, however, Trump flags & banners were flying high until well after the sun went down.
