So every once in a while, you run into a creative genius, with their truly creative ideas. Today was one of those days.
We’ve seen a lot of products come and go over the last few decades when it comes to “Buick stuff,” but of course it’s mostly “transformed” or “modified” stuff made from existing items.
Or reproduced merchandise that’s slightly different (but still kind of the same) than what has come before it.
Custom made hot wheels cars – custom floor mats, carpet & rugs – Buick style shirts – Grand National signs, etc.
You get the idea, new designs, graphics, or whatever on merchandise that’s pretty much run of the mill stuff, and things that are already on the market.
(which we aren’t knocking at all, some of it is pretty neat looking even though it’s similar to other products)
But rarely do we come across an item that makes us go “wow, haven’t seen one of those before!”
This cooler / beverage holder is something we saw online recently, and is a really neat, original idea.
I mean sure, there’s other beverage coolers for sale, but this one is in the shape of the Buick engine!
Not created from an existing product, not a modified unit of something else, not simply a copied item, but an item totally made from scratch.
It’s meant to hold 6- 12 ounce cans (within the piston holes).
The valve cover fits over them to contain them all inside.
It’s 3d printed and made from plastic.
We don’t personally know the seller (John Cleveland, from Grand Prairie, TX, who has an excellent record on facebook since 2009), but apparently he makes other similar car coolers (he started with the V8 blocks, and is now into the Buick V6 engines).
The seller says (from his FB listing):
Prices start at 70.00 for a Dual Color V8 cooler. That price includes the valve covers with colored stripes. The 2 colors will be your choice.
Custom letters/numbers/logos and additional colors will be a slight additional cost depending on what you want and the extra time it takes to design and print.
With the can coolers, you literally load it up with your 12oz beverage of choice, remove the top center manifold cover, fill with ice, and enjoy! Absolutely perfect conversation piece and great for car shows, car club meets, etc.
