What’s better than a car show?
A car show held at an auto museum!
Fun outside, fun inside.
Today’s car show is at Stahls Automotive Museum, in New Baltimore, MI.
(around 26 Mile Rd & Gratiot, on North Bay Drive)
They have a weekly (Thursdays) “Rockin’ Roll In Cruise Night” during the summer months.
The June 22, 2023, outdoor auto event drew in a small crowd (about 60 cars) on this warm but slightly overcast day.
Inside holds their (roughly) 100 vehicle collection, along with some rotating special features.
You never know what you’ll see, so it’s good to come check it out at least once or twice a year (if not more).
There’s usually about 60-100 cars that participate in the cruise-in portion, but we consider this just an added bonus.
The real treat is viewing the museum.
Entrance to the automotive museum is free on these Thursday events, although donations are accepted.
The assorted musical instruments within the building are always fun to experience (especially the organs when they are playing).
The various signs are cool, as well as the statues (the Blues Brothers, etc.), vintage gas pumps, and other assorted things.
If you’ve never been here before, be prepared to stay for awhile, there’s sooo much stuff to see!
The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (movie) roadster is still here, with all the other movie cars they have in their collection.
They now have the space capsule (with a tremendous amount of switches, dials & buttons inside) from the (1995) “Apollo 13” movie (Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton), along with the movie poster & an autographed photo of the 3 celebrities.
This is our 2nd day in a row, of 5 straight car shows going on.
Visit us again tomorrow to see where we went to!
