Vintage Tonka Toy Car Buick Regal

We recently saw these vintage Tonka toys for sale on ebay.
Most were labelled as a “Buick Regal” (or just simply “Buick”) but we think they look more like the Buick Riviera (or Olds Toronado) from that era.
Could have been intentionally created that way to generate interest from a multitude of different car model lovers.
(and besides, these smaller scale diecasts don’t often get designed “to the tee” to reflect “exact” specs of the cars represented, at least not way back in the day when they were made, newer technology make the cars look more real nowadays)
They state these are “1980” vehicles (and sort of look like the Buick Regal from that year).

Made in several different colors (both on the body and the chassis sides) and different designs including a State Police car, 2 Fire Department versions, Road Tiger, Quicksilvers, and race cars. various colored paint with assorted graphics also adorned the sides on some styles.

The body on these Gbody Regals is made of plastic, the bottoms are made of metal.
Measuring approximately 4.5″ long x 1 5/8″ wide (bigger than a Hot Wheels car), which some are claiming as a 1:32 scale.

Produced in Hong Kong, some of these Buick toy cars have a trailer hitch on them!

Whichever actual model they may be, they’re still pretty neat, and great for toy car collectors.
(or to give to kids to play with, start ’em young bringing them into the “Buick” car culture!)

Pick them up for $10-$20 if you want to add them to your Buick diecast car collection.
