Somewhere near 60 Turbo Buicks gathered throughout the day coming in and out, as per the annual “Woodward Wednesday” event that happens yearly before the actual Dream Cruise show.
This is where the local Michigan Buick guys (and a few gals) get together in the Staples parking lot (across from the Moose Preserve where it was held a bit more than a decade ago).
Only this year, they were repaving the Staples parking lot, so we slid down 1 lot near Kerby’s Coney island.
Mostly Black Buicks (a la Grand National) were in attendance (nothing new there), but there were a couple silver T’s, as well as a couple red T-types, and a dark blue Turbo T.
A 1966 Skylark (with the familiar turbocharged 3.8 liter, transplanted into it), 2 turbo Trans Ams, and a few station wagons (they’re Buicks, they count too, right? lol) parked in the lot with the group.
One GN was for sale, you can see it in the last few pics (phone number is in the pics if you’re interested).
Cool cars, chatting with old (and some new) friends, seeing and feeling the Woodward Dream Cruise pre-festival rush, it doesn’t get any better than this!
(well, unless you happen to win the lotto soon [the jackpots are up there], in which case, it probably does get A LOT better than this! lol)
Saturdays main event is a couple days away, get them cars ready if they’re not already and get ’em out there!
(and keep smiling as you’re driving, since you and your car may end up being posted on here!)
