Approximately 35 turbocharged cars attended last nights annual Michigan meet-up (the pre-dream cruise gathering) in the Staples parking lot (aka Kirby’s Coney Island).
Of course, their presence was scattered throughout the 4pm-10pm event hours, with TR’s coming & going at a regular pace.
At one point, I did count 23 turbo regals parked all at once spread across the front (& a portion of the 2nd & 3rd) rows off Woodward Avenue.
Mostly GN’s except for 2 (!) Buick WH1‘s that dared be seen in the waters within the sea of blackness.
Mother Nature was kind enough to hold off on bringing the rain until after 10pm, giving the local Buick peeps plenty of time to check out each others G-body Regals & have numerous car related discussions.
It was pretty cool that Lisa from TurboStitches.com made an appearance & talked shop (a la her racing adventures from “Drag Week” last year & her plans for this year) with a bunch of the Michigan guys.
[ ya gotta love & respect chicks who race as hard as the dudes do! ]
She didn’t bring her ‘race buick’ – but she did bring ‘a’ buick! (see the station wagon below!)
In 2 days will be the actual 2016 woodward dream cruise, but for die-hard Turbo Buick fans, this event is much better since everyone is all gathered into one spot.
