Our first event for the 2026 car show season, which coincided with this locations season opener as well.
It’s been pretty bismal weather-wise this year, lots of rain and cold temps.
Meaning the car shows that were held previously, had a low turnout at most of them.
Today was pretty much the best weather we’ve had so far this year in Michigan, as far as the days when an auto event was actually happening.
This weekly Thursday car show in St. Clair Shores, MI, brought out some cool cars (even though there were only 60-some vehicles in attendance, which is fine, we already know this isn’t a huge gathering spot. It helps that this is a nearby location).
For us, a good car show contains at least a couple GM G-body automobiles we can drool over. Some neat things we haven’t seen before is good too.
We weren’t disappointed here (4 G-body’s & an older Buick).
Amongst the show cars was a cool 1984 Buick GN, with a custom 2-tone paint job.
Of course, it was a non-turbo car, but had what looked like an LS motor.
Inside were those cool Lear-Siegler seats, and an aftermarket gauge cluster.
Then there was a gold colored (officially brown) Buick Regal (that we’ve seen at a lot of other events in the past).
A tough race car looking Chevy Malibu sat next to a neat (two-tone green) Chevrolet Malibu station wagon (which also attends many other car shows).
Finally a vintage “Buick Super” that regularly participates here (must be a guy that lives pretty close by).
All in all, a good day.

This weekend was suppose to have quite a few auto events going on, but the forecasted weather has more rain on the way, and some shows have been rescheduled or cancelled already (so check before you go to them!).
