There’s lots of choices when it comes to the valve covers for your turbocharged 3.8 liter v6 engine.
The stock versions were finned, with an oil fill cap and a tiny breather on the passenger side cover (on the front side of the cover).
Aftermarket styles eliminated the OEM front-facing breather and placed the hole on the top.
Some units have dual breather holes (1 on each side).
Creators include the big names like Kenne Bell (with a few designs), Holley (who made multiple different styles), Edelbrock, Conleys Performance Plus, even mass produced simple replacement types from Dorman and Trans-dapt have Buick 231 cubic inch valve covers available.
And of course, Buick Motorsports had their own version.
As for the looks of them, chrome, polished stainless, powdercoated (black, silver, red, to name a few), or even a natural cast finish (an unfinished texture), molded from aluminum or pot ash metal were produced.
Prices range from about $90 to several hundred dollars for new or vintage parts depending on which exact versions you want to acquire.
