Oval Auto Cruise Night Big Boy Livonia July 2024

After coming from the Leons Restaurant car show earlier today (7-6-24), this next car show is a new one to us.

It’s been on our list to check out, and today provided an ample opportunity to mark it off (since we were already relatively close to it).

We weren’t sure what exactly to expect, but we assumed it would be one of the smaller type car shows held in a parking lot.
And that would have been fine.
We’re always up for venturing off to a new venue to see what we can see.
Sometimes we’re surprised by the turnout, sometimes not.

The Oval Auto Cruise Night is at the Big Boy Restaurant (strip mall parking lot, 37123 Six Mile Rd, corner of Newburgh Rd) in Livonia, MI, every Saturday from 6-10PM.

In attendance were approximately 80 cars on display when we arrived, with somewhere over 100 by the time we left (7:30).
(and a few more were still coming in sporadically, so the total was probably much larger the later it got)

To our delight, the lot was filled with quite a wide range of autos, and of course, tons of mustangs (not a shock since this is an “Oval Auto” show).
They were mostly of the newer variety (within the past decade or so), but some 1960s versions attended as well.
The crowd and participants were a mix of older and younger people, all seemingly enjoying hanging out and browsing the arena.

A couple GM G-body cars were here, including a real nice black Buick Regal Limited, and some GM A-bodied vehicles for us to ponder upon.

This is probably a great spot for locals (and not so locals) to come to, hang out, get some food and socialize with other auto buffs, amidst viewing the cool cars on display.

The parking lot is huge and could easily hold several hundred cars, wouldn’t that be awesome to experience!
