The courtesy lights are on both the driver and passenger sides, underneath the dashboard.
These are also called footwell lights, courtesy lights, or underdash lights.
These lights shine down onto the floor on both sides of the Gbody Regal.
They turn on via the door jam switch, when you open either door, these lights turn on.
They also come on when you turn the dimmer switch up all the way.
The OEM factory lights were white bulbs.
The drivers side light is mounted above the under dash panel and shines down thru a hole in the panel.
The passenger side light, actually has 2 different locations it may be mounted at.
1 is attached to a bracket, near the ECM, and is secured into the top panel above the ECM kick panel.
The other version is center mounted on the passenger side, under the dash.
(see pics of both of these versions below)
Apparently, it is random which version your Turbo Buick received! We have seen both examples in 2 different 1987 Regal GN’s, as well as 2 1986 Regal T types! So it is not year specific, nor model specific.
